About Dr Ashwin Soni
Dr. Ashwin Soni is a highly accomplished Cardiac Anaesthesiologist and Critical Care Specialist with more than 16 years of post-specialization experience in advanced cardiac, transplant, paediatric, and critical care anaesthesia. He completed his MBBS and MD (Anaesthesiology) from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore, and subsequently pursued a Post-Doctoral Certificate Course (PDCC) in Cardiac Anaesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine from Madras Medical Mission, Chennai. He has also successfully completed Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support training conducted by Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, in collaboration with the American Heart Association.
Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Soni has worked with several renowned healthcare institutions across India and internationally, including Wockhardt Heart Centre, Madras Medical Mission, Choithram Hospital, Greater Kailash Hospital, Bombay Hospital, Medanta Super Speciality Hospital, Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS), and Mediheal Group of Hospitals, Nairobi. He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Anaesthesia at The Nairobi West Hospital, Kenya. His areas of expertise include adult and paediatric cardiac anaesthesia, transplant anaesthesia, perioperative critical care, and the anaesthetic management of complex surgical procedures, including kidney, liver, and heart transplantation.
Dr. Soni is also actively involved in academic and teaching activities, with experience in DNB and postgraduate medical education. His research interests include perioperative pain management and advanced anaesthetic techniques. During his postgraduate training, he conducted a clinical study evaluating the efficacy of thoracic epidural analgesia for postoperative pain relief following thoracic and upper abdominal surgeries.
